Do yourself a favor. Create a facebook list and add your co workers past and present. Then go and delete each person on the list. Your employer looks at what u are up to outside of work. And they judge you for it...

Hmmmm those 3 scenes sound awfully familiar. I distinctly remember the chain smoking Pooh Bear...OH and you were invited to the party -- you have a standing invite!

Hey Amanda - thanks for mentioning me in this post! I can't agree with you more (obviously). And, we don't need to share those dirty words people call us.

I really love that you brought up balance. Who cares if it is 1.5 or 2 pages. I'd rather it be easy to read and flow logically. Give me some white space dawg, give my eyes some time to breath and take in what I'm reading. I don't want to barf on your resume....no one wins in that situation.

Thanks again for the mention :o)

Ali - I love your blog post. I am always concerned what work is going to think of pictures or comments that my friends leave behind. However, I know that I love my (really awesome) job and do know that my facebook account does not alter my representation of who I am or how I do my work.

Have a super day at work!

Another recommended option for that field is selecting Connections, especially if you're trying to build your LinkedIn network. Then the results are sorted by most to least # of 1st degree connections (helpful since anyone with more than 500 1st degree connections just shows as "500+"). This allows you to find the "power connectors" who are the most connected in a given industry space, etc., and will likely add the biggest bang to your network. Shally Steckerl has a great LinkedIn cheatsheet that goes into more depth on LinkedIn sourcing.
