Russell Kenwood is Executive Consultant at Culbert
Healthcare Solutions, Inc., a leading consultancy focused on
strategic and operational re-engineering for medical groups and
healthcare organizations. At Culbert, Kenwood served as interim
Chief Operating Officer and Director of Operations for a
150-physician medical group, developing a new compensation plan,
re-engineering patient access for the more than 20 clinics
within the health system, and seeking opportunities for revenue
enhancement and improved revenue collection.
Kenwood’s deep healthcare industry and operational
experience includes six years as an independent consultant serving
both hospital and ambulatory care organizations, including Bon
Secours Health System in New York and Wheaton Franciscan Health
System in Wisconsin. Previously, Kenwood was Administrator and
Senior Vice President at Sentara Hampton General Hospital, a 369-bed
acute medical/surgical hospital in Virginia with additional
off-campus emergency/ambulatory care and dialysis centers. He also
served as Chief Administrative Officer at Sentara Medical Group, a
125-member physician group, where his duties included physician
recruitment, contract negotiation and provider participation.
Kenwood joined the Sentara Health System from NDC Medical Center in
Virginia, where he was Executive Vice President of a 40-physician
practice. He began his 34-year career in the healthcare industry
holding various executive and administrative positions at Shands
Teaching Hospital in Florida and the University of Chicago Hospitals
and Clinics.
Kenwood attended Chicago City College and
Northwestern University before graduating from the University Of
Chicago Graduate School Of Business with an MBA.
