Healthcare Practice Leader
As a Practice Leader, Michael Dermont develops and builds relationships with healthcare providers across the country, introducing them to the benefits of Pinstripe’s talent management approach, and growing client relationships. In this role, he works with c-suite executives and management teams at healthcare systems to identify talent management challenges and opportunities. In collaboration with these clients, Michael helps develop tailored solutions that impact quality of care and organizational success.
Michael has a lifelong commitment to the healthcare sector. In Pinstripe Healthcare, he found an opportunity to help hospitals meet the challenges of healthcare reform by finding the elusive tech-savvy, flexible, and qualified talent necessary to deliver great care and survive in a post-reform environment. He derives an immense sense of satisfaction from partnering with progressive healthcare leaders to help them meet their demands and drive improvements across their organizations to improve quality of care.
Michael has developed a broad understanding of healthcare needs through his roles in operations and business development. Prior to joining Pinstripe Healthcare, Michael was the director of business development for the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council where he was responsible for managing and directing all departmental functions, including sales and marketing. Previously he was the director of Midwest Sales & Business Development for Air Angels, the emergency medical flight service based in Bolingbrook, IL, where he built the sales department and established market presence from the company’s inception.
Michael earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business management from the San Jose State University in CA. He is Lean certified, and an active member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (hfma), the Chicago Healthcare Executive Forum (Chef), and the Norwegian American Hospital Foundation.
When Michael is not working with healthcare leaders, he’s spending time with his two children or making music as singer in a band. He resides in the Village of Sleepy Hollow, a suburb of Chicago, IL.
