I was reading through NPR.org the other day and my attention was drawn to an article titled “Recession Makes Us Faster”.
My obvious bent was that this article was business related, especially since it was based on research by The Wall Street Journal. I assumed that because of the current economic climate, companies are moving faster. I was hoping to read that organizations are making decisions faster (especially about outsourcing) and, in general, just being more agile.
Being in Recruitment Process Outsourcing business development, I was looking to read some inspiring news as a means to motivate me through the afternoon. I was also looking for a quote or two that I could forward to some RPO prospects that might inspire them to move a bit quicker too.
Well, I was wrong about the article.
The entire piece was about running and improving Marathon times in the US because jobless runners have more time to train. If fact, over the last year 39% more people ran times fast enough to qualify for the Boston Marathon.
So first, I’ll dedicate this blog to Pinstripe’s social media guru, Matt Jacobson, who is training for a marathon and then, I guess I’ll move on to my next article, “Robot Mowers Take the Sweat out of Lawn Care”.
