"What to Expect of HR in 2010"

There's been a huge downsizing in HR and talent acquisition, and it will never come back to the way it was. Employer popularity levels are at an all time low, and we are confronting a looming crisis in HR when the recovery takes hold.

What we have experienced is not just a recession, but a "resetting." Even when jobs come back they will have taken a different form and possibly a new geography, because organizations have learned how to do without and how to do things differently.

We've seen some green shoots, so to speak, in the economy and now a lot of people are saying "Wow, it's not getting worse anymore, so we're out of the recession." But consumer spending is still timid as people fear the next dip that may be lurking around the corner. At Pinstripe we suspect that we'll have to wait until the second half of the year to really see a recovery.

We believe that only the most adaptive and innovative will survive, and that HR has a great opportunity, and a great responsibility, to lead the transformation. Following are our predictions for the most significant workforce changes of 2010 and what HR will need to do about them.

Ultimately, you get what you put into these sites. If you want to cultivate authentic communities, you have to develop a company strategy for thoughtfully and frequently posting on interesting, relevant and newsworthy topics.
